Starting a blog and making it great is a difficult task. After all, competition is immense in most areas. There are now countless renowned blogs that have long been established. But do not be put off! There are ways to step forward into the best Google rankings. Here are our 5 tips SEO for bloggers to perfect your blog posts from an SEO perspective!
5 Tips SEO for Bloggers:
1: Start with an Exact Goal Definition!
As a first step, it is important to determine what kind of intent you are pursuing with your mail. This goal should be omnipresent even while you write the post – the red thread of your post must be clear to the reader! Possible goals of a post could be:
- To make new readers aware of his blog
- To convince the reader of a certain opinion
- A particular product or service promotion
- Share important news (private, business or global)
- Formulate a new opinion on an already existing discussion
- Answer a specific question
Particularly important is the definition of a target group. Do you want to attract new readers? Or is the post intended more for existing fans?
Finally, it has to be determined based on which parameters the success of the post should be measured. Only on the basis of clicks? Or by the number of comments? Maybe due to the number of shares on Facebook – the possibilities are limitless.
2: A Detailed Keyword Research
So I now know what and who I want to achieve with my contribution. But how do I ultimately reach my target audience?
The secret? A good keyword research! Usually, it makes the most sense to fish long-tail keywords readers. A good search volume/competition ratio with a high click-through rate gives you the best chance on the SERP battlefield. The subject of keywords is only briefly scratched here, as it has already been treated profoundly in a previous article.
You should filter out three to five keywords that you want to focus on. Why only so little? Covering a wide range of keywords is not realistic with a single blog post. The searcher should follow the same intention with the selected keywords! What is meant is that, for example, someone who is looking for a “premium clock” pursues a very similar goal as someone looking for the “luxury clock”.
There are many tools that can be helpful in keyword searches. Many of these tools are simple to use and free of charge! You can also find out about these tools in the aforementioned article.
3: Know Your Competition!
Know your enemy! An understanding of the competition is the requirement for every post. Who else works for the chosen keywords? The best way to do that is to search Google’s search results. Which pages create content about the topic that is being talked about in social media? Simply look up what is often shared on social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
Of course, you can also be inspired by the competition, but a unique selling point has to be worked out – something that sets your content apart from the competition and offers the reader a unique added value. These potentials can only be determined if an overview of its competitors is guaranteed.
4: Consider On-Page Measures
From the predefined keywords, one should now select one and make the primary keyword target of his on-page arrangements. This keyword should appear in the same wording in the title and URL of the post. Do not forget the user! The title should contain the keyword and at the same time arouse curiosity in the reader and encourage him to read on. Especially a sensibly chosen URL is an important indicator for Google and makes it easier for the user to navigate through your page.
The other keywords only play a secondary role, but of course, they should also be placed in places like the meta-description and the image alt tags. The following figure shows the structure of the so-called “snippets”:

5: Learn from Mistakes
There is no secret formula that can be used to achieve perfect results with its first post. There is no recipe for immediate success. It can take countless posts to make the first breakthrough. For this reason, it is important to always keep track of your success parameters and to reflect on and analyze possible mistakes. Finally, Rome was not built in a day.
High-quality and relevant content from the perspective of users recognizes and honors Google. With enough patience and assertiveness, anyone can reach the most desirable places in the search results.
